Amazon has awarded a performance bonus to at least 400 employees of its parent company, Citibank.
The bonus was first reported by Bloomberg Businessweek and was paid to employees of the company’s retail, consumer products and online services division, Bloomberg reported.
Amazon announced the bonus in December and it has yet to publicly reveal the total amount of the award.
In December, Citigroup announced that it was awarding an undisclosed bonus to some of its employees.
Amazon has faced scrutiny in recent years over its corporate culture and management style.
In May, the Wall Street Journal reported that the company was moving to cut $4 billion from its budget, which could result in its being taken private.
Bloomberg reported that Citigroup was also giving bonus payments of $1,000 to the employees of Amazon.com.
